Nexus 7 (2013) by Asus

When Google released the 2013 version of the Nexus 7 it was ahead of it's time. Even as I write this in 2017 the display resolution, RAM (3Gb), and Storage capacity (16G/32G) are hard to find in a tablet under $300. It included QI charging, an excellent display, and had very wide aftermarket support.

This tablet has been a workhorse and was used daily for years. It's still a handy size and I keep it as a backup.

With daily use it's possible to wear out the micro USB ports. Luckily the Nexus supports QI wireless charging. This Tylt charging stand is one of our favorites and we use them for both the tablets and our phones. It's very convenient to drop it into it for top-off.
