Approx. 1-2 miles down 1639, you will see an intersection of County 1057. Stay to the left fork and cross the bridge at this intersection. Do not take 1057!

If you have a trailer, then jump to "Trailer Drop Route" below and follow the instructions from there. Otherwise continue.

Mile Marker 0

N37*44.722' W83*44.524'

Continue on 1639 until you see an intersection with two lefts. You should see a sign indicating MM 0. There is a paved road to the left (90 degrees) and a paved hairpin left turn (135 degrees). Take the leftmost road (The hairpin).

Split Rail Fence

N37*44.766' W83*44.171' Proceed until you see a split rail fence, probably a mile or so. There will be a left turn just after the Split Rail Fence. Turn LEFT there. This is also a good time to go into 4wd low range.

Delta Intersection

N37*44.978' W83*44.026' The first left (there are no rights until you went too far) is a large 'delta' kinda turn. Keep going straight, that left goes nowhere. Proceed and look for the next left which should be an intersection with little, bald play hill.

Bald Hill

N37*44.986' W83*43.682'  Turn LEFT at the Bald Play Hill

"The Fork"

N37*45.301' W83*43.696' You will come to a fork in the road. The left (lower) tine is the long, but easy, non-muddy way. The right (high) tine is the short, probably muddy, entertaining way.

Via Left (Lower) Route

Take the left fork, follow the road and you will end up at Stump Cave.

Via Right (High) Route

Proceed up the high fork. Make sure you make your first left. This will put you right behind some blue tanks and the first mud hole. (It's a doozy!) Continue, and you will end up at Stump cave from by paralleling the cliffs.

Stump Cave

N37*45.301' W83*43.696' You will know it when you see it!
